FAQs on Volunteering at ICNA-MAS Annual Convention

 
A. Yes, the minimum age is 17 years old.
A. Yes, all volunteers need to sign a Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability form. If you are under 18 years of age, your parents must sign this form. If your child is under 17 years old, they cannot volunteer independently. A parent must accompany them.
A: The dress code for both Brothers and Sisters consists of sky-blue shirts and black pants. Sisters, please wear black hijabs (scarves) to ensure easy identification as a volunteer. While we acknowledge that not all sisters cover, we kindly request that you do so to be recognized as a volunteer during your shift.
A: Yes, each volunteer will be provided with a designated lanyard to wear throughout their shifts.
A. Volunteers will assist in ushering attendees and speakers, support the security team with crowd control as needed, staffing information and registration desks, facilitating prayer arrangements, and handling various logistical and administrative tasks. You must be at your designated location On TIME and remain there until the conclusion of the program.
A. Yes, upon completion of your assigned shift, you will receive complimentary registration.
A. No, only the person who is volunteering will get the free registration.
A. While there is no strict limit, we advise volunteers to consider completing only one 4-hour shift per day. This allows you the opportunity to enjoy the convention and bazaar with your family and friends.
A. Each shift entitles you to one food voucher. However, it is important to note that these vouchers are solely for the volunteer; family members are required to purchase their own meals.
A. Currently, we are unable to cover parking expenses. However, we hope to have the resources to do so in the future, InshaAllah.
A. Please remember to bring any necessary paperwork for signing off on completed hours. Additionally, we can write and sign the total number of hours completed by volunteers.
A. Unfortunately, hotel accommodations will not be provided for volunteers. Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
A. While no gifts or souvenirs are provided, upon completion of your shifts, you will receive a certificate at the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. We eagerly anticipate the luncheon to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of all our volunteers. If you are volunteering for only one day, the certificate will be given to you before you leave; otherwise, it can be mailed to you.
A. If you are unable to attend, kindly respond to your registration email and copy volunteermanagement@icna.org. It's important to inform us as soon as possible if you cannot make it, so that we can make alternative arrangements to cover the shift.
